Uzi Kraus
Subcontract Manufacturing

After serving in the Israeli Air Force as a team leader in aircraft mechanical maintenance, Mr. Kraus completed his engineering studies in Los Angeles. Thereafter he joined Borg Warner Corp as a design engineer specializing in jet engines’ cooling systems. In 1985 Mr. Kraus formed a marketing company with a mission of placing foreign manufactured goods on the US market. This activity involved strategic planning, market research, feasibility studies, trade shows, warehousing, and managing of rep organizations.

International Subcontract Manufacturing

As an integral part of its Corporate Growth initiatives, M&BA and its affiliates have been successfully facilitating and monitoring international subcontract manufacturing projects. These projects involve contracts awarded by European and/or Israeli companies to be performed by US manufacturers. M&BA facilitates the relationship and then performs Supply Chain Monitoring functions between the US subcontractor and the European and/or Israeli customers.

Israeli Affiliation
M&BA and its Israeli affiliate, TekTeam, have been working jointly to assist Israeli companies with their subcontract manufacturing needs. This is done very effectively by introducing US capabilities and available capacities to Israeli Aerospace & Defense customers. This activity has expended with the growing need of Israeli companies to capitalize on the FMS and FMF programs. Using its team of 18 engineers in Israel, TekTeam activities typically begin by identifying a need for a specific project. This need is transmitted to M&BA and the US office identifies the appropriate subcontract manufacturers, who could receive the RFQ and quote the project. Typically, the Israeli customer sends its delegation to qualify the new US subcontract partner, and the bid is being negotiated. During the life of the project, TekTeam and M&BA act as a consulting group, working with the Israeli customer in Israel, and the US subcontractor in the US, to ensure a smooth flow of information, progress, and project follow-up. The presence of representation both in Israel and the US, improves the communication and control of the Israeli customer, without the need to have frequent visits at the US subcontractor.

European Affiliation
M&BA and its European affiliate, ACS International, have been working jointly to assist European companies with their subcontract manufacturing needs. This activity is doe in a similar manner as described above, covering customers such as AirBus, Latecoere, Leibherr, Eurocopter, and others.
